“Together for Clean Water” Project Expands to Dankotuwa to Support Ditwah Cyclone Victims

As part of ongoing efforts to assist communities affected by the “Ditwah” cyclone, the Clean Sri Lanka Secretariat, together with partner government and private sector organizations, has launched a new phase of the “Together for Clean Water” drinking water well cleaning project in the Dankotuwa Divisional Secretariat Division.

The initiative aims to provide urgent relief to disaster stricken families by cleaning contaminated wells in affected villages and restoring damaged household electrical systems to safe operational status. These services are being delivered free of charge to ensure that vulnerable households regain access to safe drinking water and secure living conditions as quickly as possible.

Corporate partners from the Capital Maharaja Group’s I‑Hub platform including S-Lon Lanka (Pvt) Ltd, PE Plus (Pvt) Ltd, and Kevilton Electrical Products (Pvt) Ltd—are jointly supporting the project, supplying technical expertise, equipment, and volunteer teams. The Dankotuwa phase was launched under the coordination of Dankotuwa Divisional Secretary Ms. W. Nilanthi Priyadarshani, with Group Director and Chief Operating Officer of the Capital Maharaja Group, Mr. S. C. Weerasekara, officiating at the ceremony.

The program underscores the power of public private collaboration in disaster recovery and reflects the broader vision of the Clean Sri Lanka initiative to safeguard public health through clean water, safe homes, and resilient communities.
